Overview
Palabra subscriptions give you a monthly pool of usage hours that you can spend across any product on the platform — Meetings & Presentations, In-Person Events, and Streams & Broadcasting — with a single active subscription. What differs is the burn rate: how quickly each product draws down your hours pool.
Your subscription lowers the burn rate for its own product. Moving up from Starter to Pro to Team reduces the per-hour cost of the product line you subscribed to. Other products are still available on the same subscription, but they burn at the standard (baseline) rate. Annual billing saves 25% versus monthly.
Core Concepts
- Usage hours: The billing unit. Each subscription tier includes a monthly pool of hours.
- Shared across products: Your hours pool can be spent on any product — calls, events, or streams — regardless of which product line you subscribed to.
- Tier-discounted burn rate: Higher tiers lower the burn rate for that subscription's own product. Other products burn at the baseline rate.
- Billing cycle: Choose monthly or annual. Annual billing saves 25%.
- Tiers: Each product line offers Starter, Pro, Team, and Business (custom) tiers.
All plans include sub-second latency, 60+ languages, voice cloning, live captions & transcripts, and zero data retention.
How Burn Rates Work
Each product consumes hours from your pool at a per-hour burn rate. The rate you pay for a given product depends on whether you hold a subscription in that product line and, if so, which tier.
Baseline (Starter) burn rates apply to any product you use outside your own subscription's product line:

Example: With a Calls Pro subscription, your calls burn at the discounted Pro rate of $15/hr. If you use the same subscription's hours for events or streams, those burn at the baseline rates of $100/hr and $60/hr respectively.

In-Person Events
For events, workshops, and conferences with on-site audiences. Includes QR-code audience access (no app, no hardware).
